I Climb Without Bottled Oxygen
  • I Climb Without Bottled Oxygen

  • We spent Labor Day weekend enjoying our first trip to the Lake Tahoe area. We stayed at Squaw Valley and took the opportunity to head up to High Camp (8,200 feet). As the sun began setting, the winds picked up and the temperature dropped almost 40 degrees. As darkness descended, I started snapping some long exposures all while holding down the tripod and shielding it from the ferocious winds (the local guides told us that these were the worst winds they've seen in a long time).

This is a photo of Emigrant Peek, just as a group of hikers headed down.
