Lightning Everywhere

Stormy weather here in San Francisco reminded me of a ferocious lightning storm that hit Washington, DC in late June of 2006. It was my first attempt at lightning photography and at the time, I felt that only a couple of the photos where perfect (lightning photography is a bit of a guessing game as far as timing and exposure is concerned).

So fast forward 4 years and I read an article that suggested stacking lightning photos to create a more interesting composition. In this image, I stacked 4 consecutive exposures taken from one angle. Individually, each photo was nice but not exciting. Together, well, it’s electric.
